Rest is radical
the bedroom
Sure, the rest of the place is flash and all, but this is really where the most magical aspect of your stay happens: the hardcore resting!
There is no excess here. Just the simplicity of respite. We’re convinced that rest, autonomously claimed and centralised, not just demanded by bodies run ragged, is a political act. We resist commodification of our productivity by making the choice to rest, to regenerate, to nap, to lie in, to Netflix and chill.
Also, though, you might just be tired from everything else you’ve been doing arond The House.
The space:
Luminous, lush, and airy. The window is east-facing and looks out over the garden and neighbouring trees. The colour palate is set to ‘calm’. The recycled timber four-poster bed is surrounded by a soft, gauzy cotton net that creates a dreamy space for deep sleep. Pull back a section or two to open up the space or stay nestled into it as long as you like. Enjoy the movement of the morning sunlight thorough the space, have a cuppa or breakfast or your entire day’s worth of meals and snacks on the snacks-in-bed tray, read a book, stare out the window, have a spooning session if you’ve brought a companion with you, spoon yourself if you’re your best companion.
The bed:
Golidlocks, eat your heart (and your lover) out. Not too hard, not too soft, but just right. Obviously, she’s a Queen. There’s plenty of spare bedding of various weights and materials so that you’re able to select exactly the right sleeping temperature. If you fancy the featherbed for a bit of extra warmth and floof, let us know and we’ll add it in when we’re making the bed up for you. Sheets are exquisitely soft, there are a range of pillows to choose from, and if you forgot to BYO earplugs or sleeping mask, we’ve got a few spare.
The extras:
Seasonally-appropriate extras are provided, like additional fans, robes, slippers, wheat bags, cold hydrosols…whatever comes to mind when we ask ourselves the question, ‘how could this be even better’?
